Marjolein Lanzing is Assistant Professor Philosophy of Technology at the University of Amsterdam. She is member of the UvA-VU Taskforce AI in Education and Research, Program Council Member of the UvA research theme Responsible Digital Transformations, co-organizer of the Platform for the Ethics and Politics of New Technology and board member of Bits of Freedom, an NGO that protects online freedom and (digital) civil rights. Her VENI research ‘Just Not Fair’ focuses on AI and algorithmically driven surveillance technologies from the perspective of structural injustice theory. She is currently writing a popular science book at De Bezige Bij.
